My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Coconut 🥥🐶 (yes my name says Bima, but my 10 year old human best friend has called me Coconut since I came to live with him)

Coconut is a very special little girl who has been bottle- and hand-raised since she was just 2 days old. Because of that, she absolutely adores people and has grown up knowing nothing but love, cuddles, and gentle hands.

Human BFF says that if Coconut had a superpower, it would definitely be Best Cuddler. She will happily snuggle up as close as she can and make you feel like you are her whole world. If she could talk, she would tell you that what she loves most is people — big people, little people… she just loves being with her humans.

Being around Coconut makes you feel happy, loved, safe, and calm. She has such a gentle, peaceful personality and brings a sweet sense of comfort wherever she goes.

One of the funniest things she has done? She once chased a cat around the house — not in a mean way, just in a silly, curious puppy way that made everyone laugh!

Coconut would be an amazing best friend for a family because she is really calm and loves both kids and adults. She is especially wonderful with children and has such a patient, loving heart.

This sweet girl is looking for a really nice, calm, quiet family who will continue giving her the love she has known since she was tiny. In return, she promises endless cuddles, loyal companionship, and a whole lot of love.

If you're looking for a gentle soul with the biggest heart, Coconut might just be your perfect match 🤍🐾

Go meet their pets

Northern Lakes Rescue is foster based so all dogs are being fostered by amazing volunteers across the state of MN. Because of this, we require all meet and greets to be scheduled after an application is submitted.

Our focus after you apply is to get you scheduled to meet the dog within 3 to 7 days.

More about this rescue

Our Vision is to be a voice for those who are voiceless. We hear them with our hearts and give them a voice. Looking into the eyes of a rescued animal will speak volumes; watching those eyes light up will have an everlasting impact on you and the rescued animals.

We aren’t a typical rescue as we don’t take in dogs and put them in kennels until they’re adopted. All dogs we rescue are placed in loving foster homes that teach them to be the best dog they can be.

Our journey doesn’t end with adoption, either. We are here for you to support you in integrating your new member into your home, cheer new triumphs, and help with struggles.
