My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Snickers was brought in by his previous owner on February 7, 2026.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Snickers, a charming boy who is ready to find his perfect sunny spot. Snickers is an extremely passive and sweet soul who prefers a gentle pace of life. While he might hide when new people first arrive, it is simply his way of observing until he feels comfortable enough to share his affectionate nature with you. Once he settles in, you will discover that Snickers is quite the conversationalist! He enjoys "talking" to his favorite people and will happily keep you company with his vocal updates. His ideal day involves scouting out the warmest patches of sunlight in the house and enjoying a few tasty treats. To help Snickers transition into his new environment, a period of confinement is the key to success. Providing him with a small, quiet space initially allows him to acclimate to all the new sights and sounds of your home at his own speed. When you come to adopt him, please bring a top-loading cat carrier to ensure he has a secure and safe journey to his new life with you.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
