Opal is fairly independent and often plays by herself. She frequently takes naps or observes the action from her cat tree but will come join a cuddle session in the afternoon. She also goes through phases where she's our shadow and wants to follow us wherever we go in the house.
We have had Opal since we adopted her and her littermate, Ruby, in June of 2020, with no issues. Ever since our son (10 months old) has started crawling and eating solid food these past few months, though, there have been issues with them trying to play with his toys and grab his food. They have scratched him twice doing this (accidentally, not maliciously). As much as we love these cats, we've made the difficult decision to rehome them for this reason to do what's best for our son and future children.
