At just 18 months old and about 14 pounds, Reya is a pint-sized Terrier mix with a huge zest for life. Rescued from a high-kill shelter in South Texas, she’s now ready to trade her past for a future full of playtime, comfy naps, and a person to call her own.
Reya is playful, energetic, and absolutely loves toys. Toss a ball and you’ll see her light up — chasing, pouncing, and proudly prancing back like the little athlete she is. When playtime winds down, she’s perfectly content to find her own entertainment and relax nearby. She’s a confident, independent girl who doesn’t need constant attention but loves being part of the action.
She currently lives with other small dogs. Reya can sometimes be unsure with new canine friends, but she responds well to gentle correction and guidance. Once she decides another dog is part of her circle, that’s it — best friends for life. Expect adorable follow-the-leader behavior and snuggle buddies.
Reya also has a beautifully unique coat! Some areas are soft and silky like a Yorkie, while other sections have a different, scruffier terrier texture. Because of this mix, she will need regular brushing to keep her fur from tangling or matting. Think of it as a little spa time that helps you bond — and she’ll look fabulous for it.
Bonus points: she walks nicely on leash and is a great size for travel, apartments, or tagging along on adventures.
If you’re looking for a fun, spunky companion with tons of personality packed into a small frame, Reya might just be your perfect match.
Reya previously tested positive for heartworms, but she has completed treatment using the fast-kill method (Diroban) and is now heartworm free. She’s healthy, happy, and ready to move forward into her forever home.
Please understand you are committing to providing a good home for her entire life (up to 15+ years or more.)
You must be committed to housebreaking, age-appropriate enrichment and exercise, leash training, grooming needs, and positive socialization.
Her adoption fee is $250. This includes her spay surgery, rabies vaccination, Nobivac® Canine 1-DAPP vaccination, Nobivac® Intra-Trac 3 vaccination, Drontal® Plus, IDEXX SNAP® 4Dx Plus Test, Tri-Heart® Plus chewable tablet, 24PetWatch® microchip, and leash and collar.
Please be aware that puppies and small breed dogs do get adopted quickly so interested parties are encouraged to apply online at www.saspca.org.
Please ensure your application is complete before submitting. We do verify property ownership, landlord references, apartment/HOA restrictions, veterinary references, and criminal histories.
Our adoption events are held each Saturday at Petco located in the Northwoods Shopping Center at 18138 San Pedro Ave, San Antonio TX 78232. Event hours are 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
