Meet Sarabi — her name means “mirage or illusion” in Swahili… but trust us, this girl is very real — and very special. 💛
Sarabi is a 4-year-old Boxer (mostly, if not all!) with a gorgeous brindle coat and a big, expressive face that always looks like she’s either asking a question or pondering life’s mysteries. She weighs about 70 lbs and somehow believes she’s lap-sized — especially when kids are involved.
✨ Why we love Sarabi:
• Dog-friendly with proper introductions
• Cat-compatible with slow, respectful intros
• Doesn't mind kids and people of all kinds (just a little unaware of her size)
• Fully housebroken and crate-trained
• Up to date on vaccines and monthly preventatives
Sarabi is a low-key, couch-loving girl who prefers lounging over long adventures. Her ideal home doesn’t need to be overly active. She’s happiest stretching out on the couch, rolling around, occasionally falling off, and hopping right back up to do it all again (it’s as funny as it sounds).
She’s a strong, robust girl and still polishing her leash manners, something we’re actively working on. She has a sensitive stomach and does best with a slow-feeder bowl. Like many Boxers, she will also benefit from daily joint supplements to support her long-term mobility and comfort.
🧸 Personality quirks (aka part of her charm):
Sarabi loves to chew and toss around stuffies, beds, pillows, and clothes — but she doesn’t ingest anything. She just enjoys the drama of it all. She’s not much of a barker and is endlessly entertaining, often acting like the world is brand new to her… maybe it is.
🛁 Grooming needs:
Simple and easy: brushing about once a week and the occasional bath.
Sarabi is truly an easy keeper, full of love, laughs, and gentle affection. She’s waited long enough for a family to call her own and she’s ready to give her whole heart to the right one.

We find loving, responsible, committed permanent homes. An in-depth adoption process is used. This includes taking considerable care in finding perfect matches and educating potential adopters about the responsibilities of bringing a dog, especially that particular dog, into their life. Applications may take several days to process and you may not hear from a UU Board member for up to a few weeks at most.

More about this rescue
Unforgettable Underdogs Dog Rescue is a volunteer run non-profit and no-kill dog rescue serving Northeast Wisconsin. We are dedicated to rescuing the underdogs, those who have found themselves homeless. We strive to help dogs in public high-kill shelters, abandoned or dogs being abused or neglected.
Dogs we care for are spayed or neutered, treated for any medical needs they have, and placed into loving foster homes until they find their permanent home. We aim to help dogs in need without discriminating against age or breed as space in foster homes permit. As our finances allow, we aim to take on the most underdog of the cases and help dogs in the most need.
