Carl is a 3 year old mutt, originally from Maui but adopted through the Oakland SPCA. He’s a real smarty pants who loves tricks and tasks. He does great with recall off leash, and walks nicely on a leash. He is very much a DOG: Barks at the mail carrier, wants to chase cats, loves a stick. He would THRIVE in a home that could take him on regular hikes.
Challenges: While he loves or at least tolerates most dogs and puppies, he will act like a bully to some very young puppies. He won’t hurt them, but he will certainly scare them, so its best to keep him on leash around puppies. He needs a while to warm up to some people. For this reason, he’s not a dog that does well in loud crowded environments like a farmer’s market or beer garden. (Or at least he’d need specific training around this).
The reasons I am rehoming him are mainly time and money (I’d be happy to discuss). I’ve been looking for 3 years and am dedicated to finding him the right home. Will donate to rescue org in lieu of fee.
