My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Arabella! Arabella is a 2 year old ,white and brown Agean tabby, with adorable crossed eyes - a whirlwind of charm, curiosity, and comedy. If you’re looking for a calm house ornament, she’s not your girl. But if you want a cat who turns everyday life into an adventure movie, Arabella is ready to star.

She’s incredibly playful and will entertain herself (and you) with just about anything. Her favorites include rainbow “snakes,” plastic springs, toy mice, and her absolute weakness — crumpled paper balls she can chase like an Olympic sport. She believes the house is one big obstacle course: snook cases might be climbed, blinds must be inspected, counters and tables must be explored, and toilet paper must be artistically shredded. She has even tried turning the toilet into a swimming pool. No mission is too bold for Arabella.

Arabella has appointed herself Chief Ice Inspector and Official Appliance Supervisor of the household. Every time the icemaker goes off, she runs quickly to inspect, ready to make sure the cubes are being produced up to her very high quality standards. She’s not entirely sure of she’s guarding it or studying it, but she is absolutely committed to the assignment every single time it makes a sound. (See photo.)

She uses her scratcher well and loves to zoom, climb, and investigate. Because she has so much energy, Arabella would do best with one high-energy, playful feline friend, but not a house full of cats. She wants a buddy — not a crowd — someone who can wrestle, chase, and keep her busy without overwhelming her.

Underneath the spice is a surprisingly sweet soul. Arabella loves curling up in a lap, purring loudly, chattering, and making biscuits like she’s running a tiny bakery. When she’s finished, she might gently bop you and dash away, because affection should always end with dramatic flair.

She prefers being pet from behind rather than straight on, enjoys head and back scratches, and has strong (but adorable) opinions about personal space. She doesn’t like being picked up and will let you know when she’s uncomfortable. Sometimes she sneak-attacks legs when she wants attention — usually her way of saying, “Play with me, human!”

Arabella’s personality in a nutshell: silly, sometimes spicy when she wants her human to play, curious, active, entertaining, loving, and quirky. She’s best for a cat-savvy home that enjoys interactive play, understands feline boundaries, and wants a companion who keeps life interesting, funny, and full of motion. She will need a high-energy cat friend at home (we would suggest Cinnabon. Adopt 1 get 1 free if Cinnabon is adopted.) Arabella needs a home with kids 12 and older.

Arabella is dewormed, spayed, up to date on her distemper and rabies vaccines, combo tested negative, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. If you want a cat who makes you laugh daily and surprises you with bursts of affection — Arabella might just be your perfect match. More about this rescue

Our rescue is dedicated to the cats that have been forgotten - strays that are shy and frightened, abandoned cats that once had a home and are trying to come into a home for shelter, cats that need a little more TLC than most to trust again.

These cats are struggling on our streets to be noticed, struggling for survival. They need our love, our compassion, our help.

They are the forgotten cats.
The cats that most rescues "don't have time for."

ALL cats deserve love.
ALL cats deserve a good home.
ALL cats deserve to be treated with respect and given care.

Given time, love, and nurturing, these cats become wonderful, loving housecats.

Our rescue is for the forgotten cats. In my home, they are known as the Shrinking Violets, and I have fought for their right to be loved, receive care, and the respect they deserve. Please join me with your support.
