My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ghost Malone is a 3-year-old, 20-pound snuggly boy who thinks the best place in the world is right on your lap, or head, if you’ll let him. This little velcro dog is all about closeness, cuddles, and being wherever his people are. Personal space? Not really his thing, but that’s part of his charm. Ghost Malone is happy just hanging out, stealing pets, and sharing all the love he has to give - he's got a pretty calm energy level. He gets along with other dogs and is always excited to make new furry friends. On walks, he’s well-behaved on leash and enjoys greeting everyone he meets, humans and pups alike. Ghost Malone is still mastering house training and basic commands, and he’s learning to be comfortable in his crate during the day (he sleeps like a dream at night!). He can be a little cautious around loud noises but quickly bounces back with a little encouragement! This silly, snuggly little guy would thrive in a home where he gets lots of attention, affection, and cozy lap time. He is currently fostered with two other dogs, and can't wait to find his forever home! He is vetted and neutered.

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

The first step of the adoption process is to complete an adoption application in full at www.rescuecity.nyc. All of our dogs are in foster homes throughout the city. We do not have a physical location where we keep dogs.

More about this rescue

Rescue City is a no-kill, non-profit1 pet rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption organization. Our team of dedicated volunteers is based in Brooklyn, NY and serves the NYC metro and surrounding areas.

Our organization’s motto is: There’s a person for every dog, and there’s a dog for every person…it’s just a matter of time. This applies whether you are looking to adopt a pet, or would like to make a positive impact on the lives of animals. At Rescue City we believe it is our moral responsibility to defend the lives of abused, abandoned, and neglected animals.
We take on helpless stray and surrendered animals, as well as those at the top of the euthanasia list at local and international shelters. We place our rescues in nurturing foster homes while they rebuild their lives through physical and mental rehabilitation. Following a thorough – but hassle free – adoption process, our Rescues are placed in loving, responsible, and committed permanent homes. Every rescue is fully vetted and altered, micro-chipped, and vaccinated upon adoption. Our commitment to our rescues does not stop once the adoption paperwork is signed. We stress the importance of responsible pet ownership, and we educate our Fosters, Adopters, and community on what it means to be a good pet owner.
