My name is Herschel!

I adopted him about a year ago and he’s been a really meaningful part of my life. He’s a smart, loyal dog who has learned a lot — he settles well in his crate/pen, listens to commands, and is calm and affectionate at home. He’s done well hanging out with familiar people and has made progress with training and structure.

He can be sensitive and sometimes fearful in certain outside situations, especially when people appear suddenly (like getting out of cars), so he would do best with an experienced, patient owner who understands reactive or anxious dogs and can continue confidence-building training. He thrives in a calm, predictable environment and bonds closely with his person.

I’m looking for a home that can give him stability, patience, and the time to keep building his confidence. He has a lot of good qualities and deserves someone who can work with his sensitivities while appreciating how loyal and responsive he is.
