Kane is from Texas. He was brought into rescue after being confiscated during an animal cruelty investigation. Kane has been thriving since entering rescue, and now it's time to find him a home of his very own!
Even with his rough start in life, Kane is a sweet boy. Kane has shown his spirited personality right from the start—the first volunteer to give him a bath described him as “a little hurricane!”
Kane is a happy, energetic puppy who loves stuffed toys, warm fluffy beds, yak cheese chews and wrestling with other dogs. He’s polite with all adults, cats and dogs of all sizes. He is untested with children, but there's no reason to think it would be a bad fit, as long as the children are respectful and dog savvy. Kane enjoys soaking up the sunshine whenever he can. Cold weather and wet grass aren’t his favorite, but he’s more than happy to bundle up in a cozy sweater.
While his foster is away, Kane stays in a kennel, and at night he sleeps in the foster’s bed. Kane is working on potty training and does his business outside when taken out.

They arrive in Minnesota on 02/20/2026 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 8:30am and noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Click here to learn more about the FTA program. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start’s veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments.

Meet the Pet
Your chosen animal’s foster home will reach out to you to discuss the pet you are interested in. If applicable, schedule a meet and greet!
Sign Adoption Contract
An Applications team member will send the electronic adoption contract to you to be signed. They will also request adoption fee payment.
Take the Pet Home
Once adoption agreement and payment are complete, you take your new pet home!
