My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Come meet me and hundreds of adoptable pets at Cincinnati's mega adoption event, My Furry Valentine! Saturday, February 21st and Sunday February 22nd at Spooky Nook Sports!

Meet Shiloh 💛

Shiloh is a beautiful 6.5-year-old female, soft-coated Wheaten Terrier weighing 30 pounds. A puppy mill survivor, she’s ready to leave her past behind and discover how good life can be.

Shiloh is sweet, shy, and gentle. She’s still settling into her foster home and is just beginning to come out of her shell, so she’ll need a patient, kind adopter who can continue helping her build confidence and learn that humans are safe. New environments and loud noises can be scary for her, and she may shake or keep her head low when meeting new people—but with time and reassurance, she’s making progress.

So far, Shiloh has discovered the joy of cozy dog beds, lounging quietly while watching the world go by. She’s also exploring treats, and cheese is currently her absolute favorite. She’s low-energy and perfectly content relaxing in her crate during the day, and she sleeps overnight in her crate without a peep.

Shiloh is fostered with a cat and has done great with feline interactions. She’s not fully potty trained yet but is successfully using pee pads. She’s learning to walk on a leash and is still unsure, but she’s showing promising signs that she may one day enjoy gentle walks. Her coat was previously neglected, and she arrived with her face shaved, so her future family will need to commit to regular grooming to keep her coat healthy and comfortable.

If you’re looking for a quiet, loving companion and have the patience to help a deserving girl blossom, Shiloh might be the perfect match. She is fostered in Cincinnati, OH, and her adoption fee is $400. Apply today! 🐾

To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt

All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.

For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.

We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

More about this rescue

Louie’s Legacy Animal Rescue, Inc., non-profit and no kill, aims to alleviate the suffering of abandoned shelter animals by rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming them within our community.

We are proudly foster-based, meaning our animals live in homes, not shelters. This differentiates us and allows us to more thoroughly get to know our animals, ensuring they are matched with suitable, screened adoptive homes which meet our high standards.

As part of our commitment to the health and well-being of all of our animals and to reduce pet overpopulation in our community, every pet is spayed or neutered prior to adoption.

We are committed to ensuring the safety of our animals for their entire lifetimes so that they will never suffer abuse, neglect or abandonment again.
