Woodrow was found as a puppy with his siblings and brought to the pound. We adopted him at around 10 weeks old, and he has been a deeply loved member of our family ever since. He appears to be a Golden Retriever/German Shepherd mix and is affectionate, intelligent, and loyal. In the home, Woodrow is cuddly, energetic, kennel trained, house trained, and rings a bell to go outside. He thrives on human connection and responds well to consistency.
Woodrow does well with the dogs in our household but struggles with anxiety and reactivity around unfamiliar dogs. He has jumped our fence and has been involved in two incidents with other dogs, making public outings and vet visits very stressful. We’ve realized we can no longer provide the environment he needs. Woodrow would do best with an experienced, patient owner in a calm home with a securely fenced yard and either no other dogs or slow, careful introductions. This decision is being made out of love and concern for his well-being.
