Maya, a sweet girl who wants to love and be loved! She had a rough start. Found in a hoarder's home with other dogs and her 5 puppies, completely emaciated on the brink of death. She gave everything to her pups, she was skin and bones. She was moved to a high kill shelter, set to be euthanized along with her puppies. I rescued her and we brought her back to health. Throughout it all she was the most loving and grateful girl. Friendly to everyone, she followed me around the house terrified to be abandoned again.Though she was so compromised physically, she still cared for her pups and let them nurse many times a day. She looked to me for help as she needed quiet time to recover and regain her strength. Now, healthy and very strong. But because of her early hardships she is not socialized with other dogs. I know she could have dog friends, but on leash and initially she can be reactive. Needs competent leadership. Amazing beautiful dog, your best friend forever.
