FIRST STEPS: Please visit https://www.save-a-mutt.org/adoption-application/ to fill out an application - a Petfinder Inquiry is not the adoption process. We don't do meet and greets until applications have been approved. All our dogs are located IN Washington State - we are a local foster based rescue and no transport from another state required. :) Thanks!

Meet the Russian Litter! Yup, pretty obvious what breed they are... Husky!! These sweet babies are 49% Husky and then a smidge of this, a smatter of that! They are beyond beautiful, super social, smart and of course a touch sass.
All the girls in this litter are silly and more wild child than their brothers. Irina is the smallest girl in the litter... and don't let the small size fool you - she is spice and everything naughty! Ha!! She is in a home with two very experienced dog foster kids - they also have husky experience and are getting them used to leashes, collars, etc. They are doing well in their crate. We think a home with a large fenced yard, Husky (or similar breed) experience, time of training and fun adventures.
This puppy is spayed, microchipped and vaccinated to appropriate age when they go home. They will need final puppy shots, including rabies at 16 weeks. Puppies are good with dogs, cats, kids and more. Being a puppy, they will need lots of training, including housebreaking. Remember, puppies are cute, but they have sharp teeth, need to be fed 3 times a day and poop... a lot!
The 3-3-3 rule is a guideline for transitioning a rescue dog into its new home and helping it to settle in. It suggests that the first three days should be used for adjusting to its new surroundings, the next three weeks for training and bonding, and the first three months for continued socialization and training.
Each dog goes home with a goody bag including collar/leash, toys, chews, Kong, and more. You will receive all medical records, microchip transfer form and other paperwork at the time of adoption.
Save-A-Mutt may require a training contract and refundable deposit (depending on previous dog experience). You must be willing to start socializing and training as soon vaccinations are completed at 16 weeks. You pick a trainer in your area, and upon completion of a 6+ week training class, we will refund the deposit.
Adoptions typically take place in Marysville. They will be attending our Valentine's Day event at Skookum Brewery on Saturday, February 7th, from 2-6PM for people that want to come meet them. We will be available to do adoptions that day as well on approved applications.
Adoption fee is $525. Save-A-Mutt is a registered 501c3 and half of your adoption fee may be tax deductible.
Save-A-Mutt is a foster based rescue, we do not have a facility to visit. Our adoptions are typically done Monday - Saturday, we are closed on Sunday’s to give our volunteers at least one day off. You must be available to do meets and adoptions during that time frame. We can make exceptions only with the approval of the foster home.
Please note, we have approximately a 300 mile adoption radius - Portland OR area and Vancouver BC is the farthest north. We don’t ship dogs, once approved you must pick them up in Snohomish County, WA. Canadian adopters must be able to come to Stanwood WA to pick up your puppy.

More about this rescue
Save-A-Mutt is dedicated to creating awareness about the number of adoptable dogs in shelters and rescues... and to find every dog its forever home! We do this by raising funds to A) cover the costs of transporting litters of puppies from high kill shelters to spay/neuter and adopt out; B) Focus on the welfare and final placement of Senior Dogs relinquished at area shelters, and C) assist and support local rescue groups. In addition, we hold a firm belief that 'Puppies aren't Products' and hope to stop the sale of puppies and kittens in Washington State pet stores.
