If you would like to adopt, please fill out an application at www.TexasChihuahuaRescue.org. The adoption fee is $400. All dogs are fully vetted, spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped current on flea, tick, hw meds and dewormer.
Texas Chihuahua Rescue is based in Pleasanton, Texas. Additional photos and videos will be made available to approved adopters Texas adopters will be required to pick up their adopted dogs in Pleasanton.
Rico is 1.5 -2 yr and a tall handsome 18 pounds. We believe he may be a chihuahua Italian grey hound mix. He is very tall , very stoic. Rico was rescued after being a stray in the valley for quite some time. He would go into a local feed store and pull out rags for bedding to make himself a place to lay down. And try to make friends. Begging for food in front of businesses. He was a little shy at first but gets used to people and acclimates very quickly. He loves other dogs and seems ok with the cats but barks at them. He is still getting used to a normal pet life but all considering he is really adjusting quite well. We will say no small children at this time as he is a tad skittish the 1st day or two and needs some adjusting but middle school age and up is fine. Walks ok on leash , is not overly barky, and still has a lot to learn about dog life but he is doing great. He does love treats and attention once he gets to know you and trusts you. He is never aggressive nor bites or growls, just can be standoffish to strangers but it only takes a day for him to come around. He is really deserving of the love and patience of a forever family. A real family , love and stability. He is a good boy that so far lived a tough life. And we want to change that.
