My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dexter is already a bit of a celebrity. He was living outdoors being fed and cared for by multiple people. As the temperatures got lower, he was brought in to us and when we posted his picture on Facebook he got over 2,000 views!
He is a hunky, longhaired cat. Unfortunately, his coat was heavily matted to the skin in some areas, so he got a fancy haircut and is now wearing his favorite sweater. His fur will grow back, but his new family should be dedicated to keeping it in good condition in the future.
We are hoping to find him a cushy indoor lifestyle but he may eventually show signs of wanting to be outdoors again. We will have that conversation with adopters as they come in to meet him.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Adopting an animal is an exciting and important step for you and your family! Here is a brief outline of what to expect.
1. Come to our shelter and visit with the animals... come as many times as you like... you'll know when you've met "the one!"
2. Meet with an adoption counselor who will work with you to see if the animal you want can fit into your lifestyle, preferences, desires and expectations or if another would be a better match!
3. Complete the adoption paperwork and counseling session (this may take up to 45 minutes, so please be prepared to spend this time with an Adoption Counselor). You may also complete the adoption application online prior to coming to the shelter! Please note the application is an expression of interest and does guarantee animal placement.
4. Take your new best friend home!!
