Here's what the humans have to say about me:
M - 3 years old - Labrador/Pit Bull Mix -
Happy has a perky, bouncy personality and a whole lot of joy packed into one dog. He lives life at full volume - running, jumping, wrestling, chasing balls, and offering enthusiastic full-body hugs to the people he loves. If you’re looking for a dog who wakes up every day ready to have fun, Happy is your guy.
He’s potty trained, does great on walks, enjoys the dog park, and absolutely loves his crate. It’s his safe space. Because of that, Happy can get a bit protective of his crate. He’ll happily go in on his own, relax, and even hold his potty until he’s ready to come out. He doesn't mind sharing his food or toys.
Happy was returned for being too nippy and overly enthusiastic in a busy household. He previously lived with kids, cats, and another dog, but his playful, persistent style was a bit much. He struggles to read when other animals are “done” and may continue to pester, even after corrections. That said, he does well in open environments like the dog park and would thrive with a confident, playful dog who can match his energy and enjoy rough-and-tumble play.
Because of his excitement level, an active and more structured home would be ideal. One that can give him consistency, clear boundaries, and lots of outlets for his energy. Professional training would help Happy tremendously and set him up for long-term success.
Happy is not a couch potato, he’s an active, joyful, high-energy dog who needs the right match. In return, he’ll give you endless smiles, boundless enthusiasm, and a loyal companion who truly lives up to his name.
