My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I'm Nanna. I can be a little shy when we first meet, but with a bit of patience and kindness, my sweet and gentle side starts to shine. I love soft pets, calm moments, and simply being near my person. I'm the kind of companion who enjoys quiet time together and will always be there to listen and offer steady, loyal support. I wasn't treated the most kindly by children in the past, so I'd feel most comfortable in a quieter home with kids over 10 who can be gentle and understanding while I take my time settling in and feeling safe. If you're looking for a soft-hearted friend to share peaceful days, cozy evenings, and a lifetime of gentle companionship, I'd love to meet you. Adopting me means gaining a devoted little shadow who will treasure every moment by your side. Let's make those memories together. Special Needs: As they say, you don't have to brush your teeth, just the ones you want to keep! Sadly, my previous owners didn't heed that advice, and now I am missing quite a few teeth. I'm doing ok, though. I would just prefer wet food when I go home with you.

Additional adoption info

Four simple steps to adopt a pet
1. Visit the SPCA at 1002 Monterey-Salinas Highway across from WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. Visit with the pet you are interested in adopting to see if his personality fits your lifestyle.
2. If you are adopting a new dog and already have one at home, you will need to introduce them at the SPCA to ensure a good match. When adopting, please bring your current dog with you. Our animal care staff will assist you with introducing your current dog to the dog you are hoping to adopt. We also prefer when possible that all family members living in the home meet any new pet before adopting.
3. The SPCA adoption process takes approximately 20-30 minutes to complete. All paperwork, vaccination records, and microchip information will be provided at this time.
4. Take your new lifelong family member home!

We understand that sometimes potential adopters are at work or school, coming from long distances, or need time to gather pets and family together to meet their potential new adoptee. Because of this, the SPCA offers a 24 hour hold on adoptable pets.
Holds cost $30 for a 24 hour period.
