My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Vera — Your Future Snuggle Buddy!

Vera is a 7-month-old pit mix with the softest heart and the cuddliest personality. She is currently around 20lbs. Her favorite place in the world? Right next to you. Whether it’s bedtime or movie night, Vera is happiest snuggled up close, soaking in all the love.

This smart girl is already showing off her good manners! She crates quietly, has had no accidents in the house, and has proudly learned that going potty outside earns her a tasty treat-- Talk about a quick learner!

Vera has a playful side too. She absolutely LOVES toys (seriously, they are her treasure) and could play tug-of-war all day if you let her. She’s curious about cats and wants to play, so slow introductions and guidance will help her learn the ropes. She is GREAT with other dogs!

With her mix of cuddly couch companion and happy, toy-loving pup, Vera is ready to bring joy, laughs, and lots of tail wags to her forever home. If you’re looking for a loving shadow who will sleep beside you and play hard during the day — Vera’s your girl!

We will check 2 personal references and a vet reference. If there is a landlord, we will verify you can have pets in your complex.

2.

Meet the Pet

Lucky Tales requires a home visit in which we will most likely bring the pet with us, to meet you in your home

3.

Sign Adoption Contract

After the home visit is approved and complete, you will fill out and sign an adoption contract and will pay the adoption fee.

4.

Sign Adoption Contract

After the home visit is approved and complete, you will fill out and sign an adoption contract and will pay the adoption fee.

Additional adoption info

1. Submit an Application for Adoption by using the form on our website www.luckytalesrescue.org.

2. Our Adoptions Committee will review your application to ensure a good fit both for the dog and your family. We will also check your personal references as well as your vet reference. If you haven't done so already, please call your vet to give permission for your records to be released to us.

3. Once we have reached all of your references, we will be in touch with you to schedule a home visit/meet and greet! This part of the process is to ensure that the dog is the best fit for your family! Also, if you have other pets, this gives us the opportunity to observe how they react to one another!

4. If all goes well with the home visit, we will finalize the adoption!!

Please note that we do not do trial adoptions--we promote a lifelong adoption with the dog and family. Therefore we want to ensure that it is a proper placement from the start. We do understand that things come up, which is why we promise to support you through this process and after the adoption.

Our adoption fees are $250.00 for adult dogs and $350.00 for puppies.

No refunds on adoption fees.

More about this rescue

Lucky Tales Rescue is a community focused non-profit organization. Our goal is to save and protect unwanted animals by educating the community, adopting to responsible homes, and providing lifelong support for our adopters. With love and determination we ensure proper placement by matching animals with appropriate forever homes and helping the animals start their own lucky tale. Our rescue is made up of a group of dedicated volunteers who focus on a better quality of life for the animals whose lives we touch. Our volunteer group is our rescue family; we operate and conduct ourselves just like a true family would. Our hope is that through education and support we can prevent animals from being abandoned and left alone in shelters.
