Marco is an adorable, spirited, playful guy. He spills over with joy, curiosity, puppy energy, playfulness, and goofiness between his snuggles and puppy naps. He has a big personality and is hoping to find the perfect family who can take him on adventures, appreciate and laugh at his clumsiness, and enjoy an active life with him. He loves to be with his people and, although it is not a requirement, would really enjoy being in a home with someone who is around a lot. A fenced-in yard would be the cherry on top! He would enjoy a canine playmate, as long as they don’t mind playing rough. Marco can play, and play, and play. Because of his typical puppy energy, he might not be a great fit for a family with small children or cats.
Marco is a people-pleaser and is very food-motivated. He is doing great with all of the typical puppy things: obedience, potty, and crate training. He is not in love with his crate yet, but we know that takes time and patience, when done properly. He is fed inside of his crate to form a positive association. When we are away, he has been spending time in our laundry room and does a very good job at entertaining himself with toys and bones until we return. We are currently taking him out to potty on a schedule and his potty training has improved already. He does well on a routine. Since he arrived, we have been focusing on teaching him to stay down for affection, instead of jumping up, and being less mouthy, which is always helpful to puppies!! We know puppies love to chew!
His favorite things are running around playing (alone or with our resident dogs), following his people around, following commands to impress his people, playing fetch, going on walks, meal time, ALL THE TOYS, and scratches and pets of any variety.
He is doing great with command training. He currently responds to: “come, drop, sit, okay, no, and off”. He’s exceptionally smart (think collie-like learning curve) and would love to have a job (think cattle dog energy) like carrying a pack while hiking or being his humans’ designated running buddy. He is retrieving and returning with a ball/toy while playing fetch already! It only took him a few minutes to learn the command “sit”. He is great on a leash, wonderful in the shower, and very good during nail trims.
Marco is already neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated. He is waiting for one more vaccine booster before he goes home to his forever family. Might that be yours!?

The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org).
Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs), FIV/FeLV test (cats), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration).
Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are best guess.
