This helps Rocky Mountain Puppy Rescue with pet care costs.
Marilyn is an incredibly loving, affectionate girl who's absolutely gonna trust you with her life. She thrives on attention and will happily soak up all the cuddles you’re willing to give. She loves playing with other dogs and truly enjoys being part of the action.
She is potty trained and very disciplined — she consistently lets you know when she needs to go outside. On walks, she rarely gets overly distracted and does a great job staying focused.
With new people and unfamiliar dogs, Marilyn can be a little alert and curious at first, but she adjusts quickly. In our home, she was introduced (not even very slowly!) to our resident dog and cat and adapted surprisingly fast.
She is very intelligent and already responds to several commands such as sit and lay down. She also waits patiently for her food and won’t eat until you give her permission — even if her bowl is already served. She does need continued obedience training, especially with managing overstimulation, but she is highly trainable and eager to learn.
As a mama dog coming from foster care, we believe that once she fully decompresses from the shelter environment and her hormones settle, she will blossom into an even more balanced and wonderful companion. She has all the potential to become an exceptionally obedient dog with consistency and structure.
Marilyn would do best in a home where:
• Items are not left on the floor (she’s still learning!)
• She has durable chew toys that don’t break easily
• She has stimulating toys, especially ones that make sounds
• She gets enough physical and mental exercise to stay balanced
She can stay home alone, but she needs to be well-exercised and mentally stimulated beforehand, along with plenty of safe chew toys.
Overall, Marilyn is an extremely affectionate, smart, and devoted dog who will thrive with a loving family willing to continue her training and provide structure. Honestly, we have the feeling that she is the kind of dog who would protect and care for you and your kids with her whole heart. With the right guidance, she is going to be an amazing lifelong companion and probably someone's soulmate.
