Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Cassius (pronounced Cash-us) 🤍
Cassius found himself at the shelter when his previous owner was no longer able to care for him. While that kind of change can be confusing and overwhelming, Cassius is doing his very best to adjust to kennel life. The shelter environment can be stressful for some dogs, but through it all, Cassius remains the calm, gentle soul he’s always been.
This sweet boy has a quiet, loving nature and just wants a soft place to land. He dreams of a comfy bed to curl up in, a steady routine, and a family who will shower him with the snuggles he so deserves. Cassius doesn’t ask for much—just a second chance and someone willing to open their heart to him.
If you’re ready to give this handsome, sweet-natured boy the fresh start he’s hoping for, apply today and come meet Cassius. He may just be the loyal companion you’ve been waiting for. 🐾

More about this shelter
The Humane Society of Greater Dayton is proud to be a no-kill animal welfare agency. We are committed to finding great homes for great pets! As a 501(c)(3) nonproft, we receive no government funding and rely solely on donations from individuals, companies and grants to fund our programs and services. We are not affiliated with any other animal agency on a local, state or national level. Since 1902, our organization has been devoted to being a voice for the voiceless. Although we proudly find more than 2,000 animals forever homes every year, we are far more than an adoption center. We currently have a wide array of programs to support animals in our community. Through our high-volume spay and neuter clinic, we are able to help pet owners as well as battle cat overpopulation through Trap-Neuter-Return. Our humane society agents also work tirelessly to protect pets from cruel and neglectful circumstances through our Cruelty & Neglect Investigations Department. Through our Veterinary Hospital, we can provide top-quality access to veterinary care at a low cost to pet owners. In addition to our many programs, our organization is unique because we are the only agency in the community able to handle all types of animals. This includes cats and dogs but also rabbits, birds, farm animals, pocket pets and exotics. Our organization is committed to providing our community, our state and our region with support and care.
