This sweet little girl is Mio. She is just a year old with gorgeous grey tabby markings. Mio loves her toys; if there was a cat toy fan club, she'd be one of the top members. She is the master of self-entertainment.
Mio is also a love bug who lives for gentle head scratches (unless she mistakes your hand for a toy and starts clawing at it). Her little purring motor starts running whenever she is getting loved on. She can be moody around other cats though, as she would prefer to have you all to herself (she's not very good at sharing lol). She is also spayed and up to date on her core vaccinations and monthly preventatives. This young love-bug and toy-obsessed kitty can't wait to bring the party to your home. Come adopt miss Mio today! We are the Jefferson County Humane Society and , except for our humane officers (who are paid very nominally), we are all volunteers! Our members were instrumental in getting a local levy passed to build a new and larger shelter and the doors opened in 2011. We are currently participating in Iams Home for the Holidays Program and the Purina Pets for People grant program. We are actively pursuing other grants and recently have been asked by the county to partner with them in the operation of the new shelter. Since we are a humane society, our main focus is on getting animals spayed and neutered so there are no more homeless pets. To that end, we bring in a mobile animal surgical clinic who performs spays and neuters at a reduced rate. We are always looking for volunteers to help us in our efforts and, of course, for financial contributions (we are a non-profit, 501 (c)3) and pet adopters! Other items such as food, treats, pet carriers, cages, leashes, collars, food bowls, etc. are also ALWAYS welcomed and appreciated. Please contact us if you have an item to be donated or would like to volunteer with us to try to save some of these homeless, but very loveable, dogs!
