My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I may be a mature gentleman, but I still have plenty of love to give! I enjoy easy walks, cozy naps, and spending quiet, meaningful time with my people. I like to explore at my own pace and would do best in a calm, loving home where we can enjoy each others company.

One of the wonderful things about welcoming a mature gentleman like me into your life is that I already know who I am. I appreciate a steady routine, and I truly value the simple joys-soft beds, warm cuddles, and peaceful companionship. Mature dogs often make incredibly loyal, low-key companions and fit beautifully into relaxed households.

If you're looking for a devoted friend to share gentle walks, cozy afternoons, and lots of affection, I might just be the perfect carrot for your bunch.

More about this shelter

Established in 1929, Humane Society Silicon Valley (HSSV) offers quality adoptions, affordable spaying/neutering, vaccinations and microchipping services, pet care services and education programs to enhance the human-animal bond. HSSV operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We are the first organization in the country to meet the guidelines put forth by the Association of Shelter Veterinarians for standards of care for shelter animals: We are the first model shelter.

We are also the first animal community center in the nation to receive Gold LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.

Our mission is to save lives, keep families together, and create a better future for pets and their people.

Our vision is a world where all animals can thrive, all people experience the magic of the human-animal bond, and all families are able to care for their pets.
