My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Saige was brought in by their previous owner on February 8, 2026.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Saige! Saige is a friendly, happy-go-lucky girl who's ready to bring some extra joy into your day. She's done well with a young child, has had a dog friend, and has even shared space nicely with a cat-she's pretty good at making herself at home wherever she goes. This sweet pup enjoys her walks and is always up for some fresh air, but she's just as content curling up on the couch for a cozy hangout. Best of both worlds, right? Her previous owner mentioned Saige has some sensitive skin that needs a little extra care, so she'll do best with a family who can help keep her skin happy and her tail wagging. Saige brings a fun personality, easygoing energy, and a whole lot of charm. She's ready to pack up her toys and move into her new home.

At SDHS:
Saige has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. Saige is now ready for their new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
