Cooper is a very loving, loyal and lovable dog. He is smart, stubborn and silly. He likes walks where he can be nosy and occasionally he wants to be a tourist (he like to stop and look around). He loves car rides and being out with his people. He greets you at the door and wants scratches then will grab a toy, wanting to play. He gets along well with other dogs, cats and children.
We rescued him in January 2001, so he has some older issues we occasionally still deal with, notably he is extremely protective of his people. Two of us have walkers and he has snapped at people he thought were too close. At same time he likes children and is extremely patient with them, allowing them to mess with his ears and tail. Loud noises such as motorcycles or fireworks scare him. This also makes him alert bark for people going by and load noises. Unfortunately, we live in an apartment so this is more of a concern. If he had a yard to run in he would be in heaven. He is best as a constant companion.
