Here's what the humans have to say about me:
If you like your dogs with easy-roomate vibes and a full-side of silly- Ava Lane is your girl! She is the kind of cool, composed beauty with a calm, gentle confidence.
Ava is so fortunate and is being fostered in a loving foster home. Her foster praises her and shared that she has been a genuinely lovely addition to their home. She is house-trained, crate-trained, and learned the routine of the house with no problem. She gets along well with the resident dogs and can happily play when the mood strikes, but she also has that mature ability to do her own thing and relax nearby, like a peaceful little snow-cloud perched on the back of the couch.
Want to see her in action? Head to YouTube for “Ava Lane | Couch-Back Cutie”
https://youtu.be/84YtqcxDldQ
Ava is estimated to be about 1.5 years old, a full-grown 47 lbs, and all signs point to her being a fluffy husky/malamute mix but of couse, with a rescue we cannot guarantee age or breed.
And now for Ava’s signature quirks, the kind that will always make you smile.
Permanent blep: her tongue is a little too big for her mouth, so it’s often just… out. Even when she’s sleeping. Especially when she’s sleeping.
Couch-back cat mode: Ava loves sleeping on the back of the couch cushions like a cat, perched up high and sleeping on the job if he is supposed to be “on-duty.”
Out and about, Ava is easy-going and polite on leash. She is steady, cooperative, and just takes things at a slow and steady pace. With people, she’s more of a “quality over quantity” affection girl- she bonds best when she’s given a moment to settle in (which is no more than two beats) she’s comfortable and you’ll see the sweet side come out. The exception to this is with kids, she had a clear favorite and was fast friends when she met Cash (a 7-year-old) he had her absolutely charmed, following commands, and gently taking treats within moments of meeting him.
With other dogs, Ava does best with friendly, medium-energy dog pals who understand polite space at first. In large playgroups she is happiest with calm, playful dogs that do not insist on physical play immediately on meeting. Introductions that are respectful and allow her to get to know a dog on her timeline works wonderfully. In her foster home she is playful but also knows how to coexist. This girl does not want or need to be the center of the dog party.
Home setup wise, Ava could do well with active apartment life (daily outings and enrichment), but she’d definitely be delighted by a yard for extra sniffing, lounging, and those classic husky-flavored moments when she stands outside looking at you with that “do I come inside now?” face while you stand in the door way realizing she is truly that happy enjoying the outdoors. She is also comfortable in her kennel and can handle crated time like a champ.
Cat note, Ava was very interested when she met our house cat and has potential to be feline-friendly but she will need a dog-savvy cat and a family that will set clear boundaries and consistent training around the cat. She is responsive to direction, but her curiosity can reboot, so setting her up for success with boundaries from the beginning is key.
If you’re looking for a gorgeous, steady, go-with-the-flow girl who’s already mastered the house-dog basics and is ready to build a real bond, Ava Lane is ready and waiting.

https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about creating lasting matches between dog and family for long term success, and take the time to ensure each adoption is a fit through our matchmaking process.
At our 2 acre Texas based property, we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group training and socialization play groups helping them stay confident, well rounded, and adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers are dedicated to each dog’s growth and we enjoy seeing their progress!
We go above and beyond to ensure every animal receives exceptional care. Veterinarians consistently praise our medical standards. From routine care to advanced treatments, each dog receives personalized attention. Hard costs for a healthy dog range from $804-$920; heartworm-positive dogs or those needing specialized care can exceed $2,000+. Adoption fees help cover a portion of these expenses, but without government funding, we rely on fundraising to bridge the gap—ranging from $100–$1,000+ per dog.
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:
