My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Jake, the ultimate blend of shepherd and hound, with a dash of goofiness thrown in for good measure! This sun-loving, stick-chasing, and squeaky-toy aficionado is here to steal your heart. He is dog-friendly, has great leash manners, and his enthusiasm for treats makes him a star pupil in any training session. While he relishes the freedom of a fenced yard, Jake is also a pro snuggler, equally at home on the couch or nestled in a cozy dog (or human) bed. Though shy and skittish around new people and situations, Jake is blossoming in his foster home and his foster parents and fur foster brother are working on building his confidence. From hiking trails to squirrel patrols to peanut butter-filled Kongs, Jake is up for any fun-filled escapade. Ready to add a playful and lovable companion to your family? Look no further than Jake!

More about this rescue

We are an animal welfare organization located in Shelby County, Alabama. Our mission is to rescue “priority” dogs (priority dogs are dogs who are at risk of euthanasia due to length of shelter stay, lack of interest from the public, behavioral issues, medical needs, and age) from overcrowded shelters to rehabilitate, rehome, shelter, and provide the love they deserve.
