My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I'm Chloe! I'm a 6-year-old, 24-pound Beagle. My ideal family would be the family from the Sound of Music, but with more dogs and cats. I'm a social butterfly who absolutely loves kids and four-legged friends. And I'm ready to climb every mountain until I can find my forever family!

Favorite Things: Although Chloe is a quiet, calm girl at home, she has lots of energy and loves to run on 'walks'. For her, the only thing better than a walk is seeing kids while out and about: she starts wagging and wiggling when she spots any human on walks and wants to meet them. She is very confident and wants to be everyone's friend. She's not big on toys, but she loves snacks, treats, faux bones, and Publix frozen marrow bones.

Training & Manners: Chloe is a little lady! She is housetrained when let out frequently. She is generally well behaved on car rides and can sleep in the people bed or in a dog bed at night. She just needs more practice walking (rather than sprinting) while on the leash.

Health & Care: Chloe is spayed, heartworm negative and up to date on vaccinations. She is currently on prescription food, and the cost of that food is equivalent to other quality dog food.  Of course, she'll also need her monthly flea and heart preventatives, like any dog.  As a Beagle, she should not need much elaborate grooming.

Other Animals: Chloe adores other animals. She loves other dogs, from Great Danes to small bulldogs, and she is currently in a foster home with six cats. She seems to be comforted by having other pets around.

Children: Chloe loves children of all ages.

Ideal Home: Due to her energy levels and ability to run quickly, Chloe would do well in a single-family home with a securely fenced yard. She has a powerful beagle bark, too, although she does not use it much.

Overall: Chloe is a treasure for someone with other pets and a lot of love to give. Is Chloe the cuddly cutie you've been looking for? Then visit www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org to fill out an adoption application. If it seems like it could be a good match, her foster family will reach out with more information. Her adoption donation is $375.

We are a foster-based rescue organization and do not have a facility. We have all events posted on our website each month.

More about this rescue

Poodle and Pooch Rescue is a 501(c)3 non profit organization that saves dogs that truly need help. We rescue the "leftovers" from animal control, the dogs nobody wants because they're older or suffer from neglect, abuse or have a medical need. Their "last" day becomes the first day of their new life. We provide the veterinary care they need, a foster family they love and when they're ready, we adopt them to a family who cherishes them. We do not have a physical shelter because every dog lives with one of our foster families. We are all volunteers so your tax-deductible donation goes directly to help the dogs. We have saved over 5,500 dogs since 2008.
