We are heartbroken to be seeking a very specific home for our beloved dog as a last effort to keep him safe.
He is about 5 years old, 35 pounds, and DNA tested as roughly 1/3 Chihuahua with a mix of other breeds. He must be the only dog in the home and cannot live with small children. He has significant dog aggression, reactivity, and resource guarding, and needs an experienced owner committed to careful management. He has never shown aggression toward humans.
In the right home, he is incredibly sweet—housetrained, crate trained (he loves his crate), affectionate, and happiest playing fetch or lounging on the couch.
Despite medication, training, supervision, and separation from our other dogs, we cannot reliably prevent incidents and must consider humane euthanasia. We truly believe he could thrive as an only dog. He has lived with cats before, but only with experienced supervision.
We love him deeply and are not making this decision lightly.
