My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mima has paid her semi-feral dues living on the streets, but has learned to trust, becoming a very sweet, tender cat. She once even seemed to ask for help when injured, and appreciated a safe quiet room in which to heal. More recently she lost her outdoor safe space (a dirt basement in an old house) and it became clear that this is really her time for living in- and loving- the comfort of the indoors.

When you're near, Mima wants to curl up next to you, for face, neck, shoulder rubs and a light grooming. She's also very good at entertaining herself - hunting her wand toys and squeaky things. She has a beautiful purr and a luscious soft white coat with tabby/black markings. She communicates with whispery meows and sweet lick-kisses. She's a vibrant nine year old, dreaming of her forever home filled with yummy food, silly play and purry snuggles.

Mima will likely thrive as an only cat or possibly with a chill older cat. She has concerns about new people and uncertain situations, so can get overwhelmed, needing to step back a moment. She quickly comes back for gentle scritches and cuddles. Once she knows your kind heart, she loves you! And she loves you even more when you give her some Churu.

Consider bringing Mima into your loving forever home because you are somebody who's patient and willing to let her come to you. You will become the apple of Mima's eyes, and will be rewarded with a true friend.

Additional adoption info

We adopt animals to homes in the Los Angeles area and neighboring counties.

To help ensure that we place our cats in loving, responsible, committed homes, we have a screening process before you can adopt a pet from Kitten Rescue. We reserve the right to turn down potential adopters as we deem necessary. First, we ask that you complete our Adoption Questionnaire at kittenrescue.org/cat-adoption-form/. You can complete the form online or you may stop by a weekly adoption event to complete form in person. Second, a home visit or a home delivery of the cat or kitten is also required as part of our adoption process.

The Kitten Rescue adoption fee is $150 for a kitten or cat up to 10 years old, and $100 for each additional kitten or cat to the same household ($250 if you adopt a pair). Cats above 10 years old have a fee reduction of 50%, for an adoption fee of $75 each.

All of our cats have already been:
Spayed or neutered
Vaccinated – with at least one FVRCP vaccination
Treated for fleas
Dewormed
Tested for FeLV (Feline Leukemia) and FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus)
Microchipped

More about this rescue

Kitten Rescue is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization devoted to finding loving homes for unwanted, homeless cats and kittens. We rescue cats and kittens from the streets of Los Angeles and from City Shelter euthanasia. Since our start in 1997, we have grown into one of the largest, most well-respected animal welfare groups in LA.

Kitten Rescue volunteers adopt out over 2,000 cats and kittens into homes every year. We educate the public about responsible pet guardianship, how to care for kittens and cats, and the importance of spaying and neutering. Kitten Rescue makes educational material available via events, print, school presentations and here on our website. We also provide Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) assistance for communities in and around Los Angeles, and teach people how to manage and care for feral cat colonies.
