My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pennington County Humane Society

Sally is a sweet, easygoing German Shepherd mix estimated to be around two to three years old. She has fully retired from her mama duties and is now spayed, vaccinated, and ready to enjoy life as someone's cherished companion. After raising her last litter with patience and devotion, she's more than earned her chance to simply be a dog who gets to relax, explore, and soak up love.

She spent much of her early life outdoors, but she adores being inside and settles beautifully once she's in. She's calm, respectful, and happiest when she can curl up near her people or follow the kids around the house. Sally gets along wonderfully with men, women, children, and visitors, and she's shown no aggression or resource guarding. Her only quirk is sneaking into the garbage if it's left out — an easy fix with a secure bin.

Sally doesn't know many formal commands yet, but she is incredibly sweet and eager to please. She's housetrained, knows how to use a doggie door, and transitions smoothly into a home routine. She hasn't been known to be around cats, so her compatibility with them is currently unknown.

She's a medium‑sized, affectionate girl who thrives on simple comforts: a soft bed, a steady routine, and the feeling of belonging. She would make a fantastic companion for someone looking for a loyal, mellow, people‑oriented dog who's ready to leave her past behind and enjoy a life of comfort and love.
