Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Bella (7 years old, 67 lbs) and Iris (6 years 11 months old, 54 lbs). These beautiful sisters have lived together for many years, through all of life’s ups and downs. When their beloved owner suffered a stroke and had to enter long-term care, their world changed overnight. They were placed into separate foster homes, and while they are safe and loved, we would love nothing more than to see them reunited.
Bella is the joyful, slightly goofy little sister. Iris is the wise big sister whose tolerance for nonsense is shorter, and she’s quick to lovingly correct Bella when she gets a little dramatic. It’s the kind of sister dynamic that makes you smile.
Both girls:
❤️ Have lived with cats
❤️ Could live with other friendly dogs
❤️ Are potty trained
❤️ Don’t even really need a leash for quick potty breaks
❤️ Are incredibly affectionate with people
❤️ Are mature, good-natured, easy companions
They are the definition of “easy dogs.” No chaos. No drama. Just loyal, loving companionship.
We do not require that they be adopted together… but in our hearts, we are hoping someone sees what we see and gives these sisters the chance to spend their golden years side by side.
To make that dream easier, we are offering a single adoption fee for both girls.
If you’ve been looking for double the love, double the snuggles, and a ready-made best friend pair, Bella and Iris are waiting.
Let’s reunite these sisters.

More about this shelter
FCHS is a smaller, privately run non-profit organization dedicated to serving the homeless, abandoned, and lost companion animals in our area. We operate an open-admission animal shelter, refusing no animal in need, and providing the possibility of adoption for these unwanted animals. We strive to reduce pet overpopulation through promoting spaying and neutering and altering all pets adopted from our shelter, and we return lost pets by researching ownership and providing better identification.Franklin County Humane Society Union Missouri Like many small shelters, we receive no state or county tax support and no funding from other humane organizations or the United Way, nor are we related to the St. Louis Humane Society. While we receive fees and occasional donations for surrendered animals, we are dependent on private donations from our community. It costs about $1,200 per day to keep our doors open! We serve Franklin County (75%), but also 13 other counties because there are no other open-admission shelters in our immediate area. We make a huge impact in east central Missouri.
