If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
We adopted Celeste as a 6 month old stray who had recently had a litter. She was skittish and uncertain when we first brought her home but she warmed up after a few months.
It was just her in the home for about a year before we had our first son and then we brought home our second child one year ago. She’s now 6 years old and over time she has become increasingly stressed, scared, and reactive around the kids. She is cuddly, gentle, and well behaved when the children are not around but she has become more aggressive since our most recent child.
We give her safe spaces away from all the excitement of the home and we dedicate time to play and bond 1 on 1 but I believe the stress has become too much.
The adoption fee is just so we can post her profile. We have 2 cat trees, a litter box, a carrier, and a bag of food we are more than happy to provide for her.
We love her very much but we have run out of ideas. Rehoming her is our last resort at giving her a peaceful life.
