My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello everyone! Meet Brutus! Brutus is a 9 year old mastiff we took from a very crowded shelter who needed to open kennels. We don’t typically spring for the big dogs but after the shelter exhausted all large breed rescues which were sadly full, it was hard not to take a look at his amazing smile and his beautiful bright eyes and not welcome him in, so we did just that. His foster family said he is absolutely excellent with his house manners. He weighed 125 pounds when we neutered him and while he may be a senior he sure doesn’t exude that attitude. He is bright and full of life. Brutus is very intelligent, a total slobber box, excellent with the 11 year old kiddo in the home, all of the dogs, and completely ignores the kitties. He does require one small treat to get him in his crate but that’s pretty typical to be slightly stubborn at this size HAHA. Anyway, once an application is filled out we would be happy to connect you with us foster families so you can ask all the questions and get tons of extra pictures and videos! He is a wonderful boy and we hope his agent size does not limit his adoption.

Adoption donation fee is $50 or reasonable donation which it is tax-deductible and goes towards the care of homeless pets with Unchained Souls Canine Rescue.

To expedite the adoption process you can send us a message at Unchained Souls Canine Rescue on Facebook to request an application or you can email us at unchainedsoulscaninerescue@yahoo.com and we will happily send you one!

Meet the Pet

If everyone and the pet included thinks it’s a good fit you will be able to bring the pet home at the meet and greet!

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process starts with submitting an application, then we get our team to either approve or deny, and once that happens we will notify the adoptive family and either set up a meet or explain why it was denied. If the application is approved we have the foster families with our dogs reach out to get connected so the future family can ask more questions and receive more pictures and videos and set a time to meet the pup!

Go meet their pets

Once an application is approved, we will get a meet and greet set up, we tend to have adoption events once a month at the pet supplies plus in Kokomo, Indiana, but keep an eye on our Facebook page and watch for those events!

More about this rescue

Hello everyone! We are unchained souls canine rescue! We have made it a primary focus of our rescue organization to help animals that have a harder time finding a home, whether it be due to behaviors, such as extreme shyness, or maybe pets that need to be in a one on one type of homes, or maybe pets that have higher energy needs, we have made it our mission to help these pets find a forever family, even if it takes a little bit of extra time! We are very proud to say that we have taken lots of sweet babies from local shelter/struggled in a shelter environment and we have had amazing success putting them in foster homes fit for them with structure so we could figure out what type of family they needed and go from there! If we do get a dog that gives us a harder time, we have excellent trainers that we send our dogs to so we can give them their very best chance at finding a home. We absolutely do not euthanize for space and we hold our dogs until the proper family can be found. The directors have kept several dogs that were not fit to be part of the public and have successfully kept them safe as well! We take a lot of pride and keeping pets in the community safe all while helping dogs who need that extra bit of help!
