Atlas is an adorable kitten with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He was born with a condition called cerebellar hypoplasia (CH), which means his cerebellum—the part of the brain that controls balance and coordination—didn’t fully develop. This gives him his signature “wobbly” walk.
What does CH mean for Atlas? CH is a non-progressive condition, so it won’t get worse over time. Cats with CH can live long, happy lives—they just move a little differently! Atlas’s wobbles don’t slow him down when it comes to playing and exploring, but does not use the litterbox, so will probably do best with pee pads.
What we’re looking for: Atlas needs a home experienced with CH cats who are knowledgeable about their special needs. He’ll thrive in a safe environment with patience, love, and maybe a few extra accommodations to help him succeed.
If you’re ready to give this sweet, wobbly boy the loving home he deserves, Atlas is ready to meet you!

We've got awesome dogs, cats and other critters waiting for new families to come and adopt! The adoption process begins online, and all adoptions are done by appointment only. To reduce the animals' overall stress levels, we have decided to limit animal viewing to those people with appointments for specific animals.
How it works:
1. Check out our available animals online. If you see an animal you’re interested in, fill out that species adoption questionnaire at https://www.everettwa.gov/161/Adopt-a-Pet to start the adoption process. Please be sure to include the name of the animal that you are interested in adopting. Questionnaires will only be reviewed if a specific animal is identified. You aren't obligated to adopt that pet, but it's a place to start.
2. Our staff will review your questionnaire and contact you to discuss the adoption. Please note that it often takes several days before you are contacted. We appreciate your patience! (If it has been longer than one week and you haven’t heard from us, please email us.)
3. Most animals will be available to go home the same day as the adoption meeting.
ADOPTION FEES - CATS
- Cats (over 6 months): $50 - $100
- Kittens (6 months and under): $150 - $300
- Two kittens adopted at the same time: $250 - $300
Adoption Fees for cats and dogs include:
Spaying / neutering
Microchip
First set of vaccines
Deworming
Flea treatment
Martingale collar and slip lead for dogs
Collar and cardboard carrier for cats
SMALL ANIMALS & BIRDS
- Adoption fees vary based on species

Adoptions by Appointment
Our shelter is currently closed for general animal viewing, but we’ve still got awesome dogs, cats and other critters waiting for new families to come and adopt them. To help keep our staff, volunteers and community healthy, we are now providing adoptions by appointment. This enables us to comply with social distancing guidelines while still finding loving homes for the pets in our care.
