My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

WILLOW is a huggable, lovable, fluffy girl with a big heart and an even bigger bounce. She’s a happy, playful large dog who lights up when she’s around her people — and she’s not shy about asking for affection! Willow will happily reach up for hugs and soak in all the love you’re willing to give.

At approximately 4 years old, Willow is in that wonderful stage of life where she still enjoys playtime but also appreciates companionship and connection. She absolutely loves being with her humans and does well with friendly, large male dogs. (No cats, please.) Her adoption fee includes her spay, vaccines, deworming, and microchip. Willow was born on one of the reservations we work with and is ready for her next chapter — one filled with stability, kindness, and plenty of hugs.

We are seeking a home for Willow in the Santa Fe, Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, White Rock, or Los Alamos areas. She would thrive as an adored only dog or with a compatible male dog companion.
If you think Willow might be the right fit for your family, please email desertpawsnm@gmail.com to check availability and begin the application process. We would love to introduce you to this joyful girl and help her find the loving forever home she deserves.

More about this rescue

We work with the animals at five local Indian tribes (pueblos). We have a spay/neuter called, Door2Door, we assist animals with medical emergencies, prevention, education. We rehab and re-home the unwanted, abandoned, and neglected. At the time of adoption, we bring the pet to your home to make sure all family members including all fur babies get along and all are onboard and committed to the pet. We have an adoption process and we like to stay in touch with the families for the life of the pet.
