Cookie Monster has been through more uncertainty than any dog should ever know — and yet she greets the world like every day is a party she’s excited to attend.
This winter, Cookie Monster and her sister were living alongside their owners during a period of homelessness. The motel they were staying in didn’t allow dogs, so their family took shifts standing outside in the freezing parking lot 24/7 just to stay with them and keep them safe.
They called us for help and we secured a foster home for both dogs while their family searched for permanent housing. Months passed, but stability never came — and out of pure love, their owners made the heartbreaking decision to let the girls find permanent homes where they could finally have consistency and comfort. Over the last three months, Cookie Monster has lived in foster homes with large dogs, small dogs, and young children — and she has absolutely blossomed.
Cookie Monster is the definition of a happy, outgoing companion:
• Playful and confident
• Loves romping with other dogs
• Wonderful with kids and loves cuddles
• Quiet and easy to live with
• Social, affectionate, and people-focused
She’s the dog who will happily join a play session, then curl up next to a child for snuggles afterward. She adapts quickly, bonds deeply, and brings warmth into every room she walks into.
Despite all the changes she’s endured — losing her home, moving between fosters, and saying goodbye to the only life she knew — Cookie Monster has held onto her joy and trust in people.
Now she just needs one thing she’s never truly had: A family that’s forever.
If you’re looking for a playful best friend, a gentle cuddle buddy for your kids, and a dog who will love you with her whole heart, Cookie Monster is ready to come home.
