My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Fred and Barney are young Holland lop brothers who have a close bond and must always stay together. They were dumped in Long Beach when they were just little babies. It was so scary for them but they persevered and found their way to the city shelter. They have been with the rescue for their formative months. Everyone who sees them is taken by how adorable and affectionate they are! They're just waiting for their forever home now. Could this be you?

More about this rescue

At Bunny Haven Rescue, our mission is to rehabilitate and rehome rabbits in need in Long Beach, CA and surrounding communities. We provide compassionate foster-based care, promote education and responsible ownership, and create a safe haven so that rabbits have a safe, healthy, and happy home.

About Us:

We are Bunny Haven Rescue, a foster-based nonprofit located in and around Los Angeles County and Orange County, CA. We became a licensed nonprofit in 2025 and have taken in and rescued dozens of bunnies. All are spayed/neutered, fully vetted, microchipped, socialized, litter trained, etc. prior to adoption.

We take all buns and don’t discriminate by breed, age, or ability. Unless it is in their best interest to be peacefully put down, we will exhaust all options to provide the best quality of life.

Our team does not euthanize for space or aggression. Bunnies are welcome to stay in our fully-trained foster homes for as long as needed. While they’re here, they’re treated like family because they are family.

One of our main priorities is education. Education is key with bunnies, as there is so much misinformation out there. Every single one of our fosters and adopters is required to take a 45-minute “Rabbit Care 101” course.

We believe that rescues, shelters, and other pet advocacy entities work better together to provide animals and pet owners much needed help and education. We work closely with Long Beach Animal Shelter and Bun Chia Burrow, LLC.

Since we are an independent nonprofit, we are nearly 100% donor-funded. Our team is fortunate to be able to partner with Bun Chia Burrow, LLC. where we can conduct pop-up adoption and education events, and provide a hub for education, and supplies for our foster families.

While our hearts wish we could welcome every bunny in need, our resources are focused on providing the highest level of care to the most critical cases. By prioritizing the most vulnerable intakes, we ensure that our efforts have the greatest impact—saving lives that might otherwise be lost.
Every rabbit matters, and we’re committed to doing the most good with the means we have, one precious life at a time.

Our organization is growing and each day, we’re amazed by the outpouring of support for our work by our partners and others. We are so, so grateful. Thank you for supporting Bunny Haven Rescue!
