Meet Ramona! 🐶

Ramona is a 5-year-old Poodle mix who came to our shelter after being surrendered due to her owner having too many pets. She has lived with other dogs, but has not lived with cats or children.

Ramona is extremely timid and unsocialized, and the shelter environment is very overwhelming for her. She is unfamiliar with walking on a leash and will hesitate or freeze when asked to move. New situations and expectations are confusing for her right now.

With time, patience, positive training, and gentle socialization, Ramona has the potential to become a sweet and loving companion. She will need a calm, understanding adopter who is willing to go at her pace and help her slowly build confidence.

Ramona would do best with someone experienced or committed to learning how to support fearful dogs. If you have the patience to help a shy dog feel safe and loved, Ramona could be a very rewarding addition to your family.

Meet and greets with your family dog and shelter dog is encouraged. Dog and cat meet and greets are not allowed.

$80 for all kitten/cat adoptions. $90 for all puppy/dog adoptions. $35 for all rabbit adoptions.

Additional adoption info

The shelter is open to the public Monday through Saturday from 9:00am to 5:00pm, with adoptions closing at 4:30pm. The shelter is closed on Sundays and all government observed holidays.

City of Henderson Animal Care and Control is the only open admission animal shelter in the City of Henderson. We service the City of Henderson and the residents and animals within city limits. Our goal is to find forever homes for all adoptable animals and reunite pets with their people. We work with multiple rescue groups and allow any good adoptee to adopt from our shelter.
