Their adoption process

We are very thorough and we work hard to ensure dogs and families are well-matched. We keep in contact with adopters for life and love to hear stories and updates about our rescued dogs living the good life.

Adoption steps

  1. Submit Application
    1. When you submit your application, please be as detailed as possible.
  2. Interview
    1. We will call you and discuss your application with you.
  3. Approve Application
    1. We require three personal references and a veterinary reference.
  4. Meet the Pet
  5. Home Check
    1. Home checks are done in person, not online or virtually. We like to get to know our adopters and see where our rescues will be living.
  6. Sign Adoption Contract
    1. Our legally-binding contract ensures our dogs will always have a safe and loving place to live.
  7. Pay Fee
    1. Our adoption fees are $375.00. The dogs are already altered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, etc.

Go meet their pets

We are a small organization and still developing our facility, so we operate on an appointment-only. For more information, send an email to: mahonemt@bonaventure.edu or a text/phone call to (716)785-4705.

More about this rescue

We are a small but growing non-profit, 501(c)(3) dog rescue. We rescue homeless dogs and find them dedicated, loving well-matched homes. We are gradually transforming a pole barn into a cozy haven for homeless dogs that provides spacious, enriching rooms instead of kennels. In addition to rescue and adoption, one of our goals for the future is to provide a lifetime sanctuary for dogs who have a difficult time finding an adoptive home due to more complicated medical and/or behavioral issues. We love all animals but have the most knowledge about and personal experience with dogs.
