My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Bastet!

This lovely 2 year old girl was brought into our care with her bonded housemate Borscht after their previous owner was no longer able to care for them.

Both Bastet and Borchst are leash trained, however, Borscht can sometimes be resistant to going into carriers, so his new home would need to work on positive association with him.

Bastet is a very sweet, social girl but can be quite shy at first with people she isn't familiar with. With a bit of patience, a gentle voices, and a calm environment, we're confident that she and her brother will quickly show their friendly, loving colours with their new family.

Because these two sweethearts are a bit shy and sensitive, they will need to have a home together without small children or other pets.

If you are interested in giving these two cuties their forever home, please fill out an application online, or come down to our West Vancouver Branch Tuesdays - Saturdays from 12pm to 3pm. We look forward to meeting you!

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
