It’s always sad hearing one of our adopted dogs has been turned into the animal shelter. Thankfully, every animal that leaves our custody is microchipped to allow us to know when things like this happen. Rowdy was a 12 week old mixed breed puppy who was adopted May 2025. Unfortunately, the family was no longer able to keep him and another dog in the home, and opted to surrender them both to the shelter. While it is written in our contract to return our animals back to us, these things happen. We are grateful the animals shelter made us aware and we have a foster bailing him out tomorrow morning.
Rowdy will be available for adoptions starting tomorrow. We have to update his heartworm test and then he will be ready for a second chance. We know that he is great with other animals, super friendly, and an all around great companion. He was not surrendered because of his behavior or any fault of his own. He’s still a baby and has lots of energy. He weighs around 40-45 pounds. We aren’t sure his mix , but look how adorable this guy is!

Approve Application
Once we approve your application, we will reach out to you on a time and date for you and your family to come meet your selected pet

Meet the Pet
When you have selected a date and time, you will bring the whole family and your pets to do a meet and greet with our animals!

Sign Adoption Contract
If all goes well, and everyone in the family agrees, you will be sent the adoption contract electronically to sigh and submit
5.
Pay Fee
After the contract is signed, you will pay the adoption fee for your new companion!
6.
Take the Pet Home
Congratulations! You are now the proud owner of the best little companion you can ask for!

Petty Pawz Rescue reserves the right to deny adoption applications if we do not believe the family or animal is a good fit for you. We stand by our animal's and their safety and only want to set them up for success! Petty Pawz Rescue is operating with less than 3 people, so it may take longer than expected to hear back with your application status.

We generally host adoption events at our headquarters (contact us for address) every Saturday and Sunday from 9-2pm. We can also make arrangements throughout the week if you are not available to visit. We are foster based and have to align your schedule to the foster's schedule in order for you to meet the animals. We do not have a facility you can visit at this time.

We do not accept owner surrenders at this time as our focus is animals that are in immediate danger.
