Meet Leeta, our newest little arrival with the sweetest soul. Leeta came to us from another shelter where she was understandably very scared. Since arriving, she has slowly begun to blossom, showing us her gentle and affectionate side. While she’s making wonderful progress, she is still timid with new people and unfamiliar situations and will need a patient, understanding home to help her continue building confidence. Leeta appears to be a beagle mix — and like many beagles, she enjoys following her nose! A securely fenced yard is preferred to keep this curious girl safe while she explores. Because she is still shy and adjusting, Leeta would do best in a quiet home without young children. We’re excited to continue learning more about Leeta as she settles in — stay tuned for updates on this special little girl.

Pet Refuge was formed in 1978 to help with cats and dogs in need of homes. We are a limited admission shelter that supports our local animals control facilities by helping take in the overflow of cats and dogs from their facilities. We also take in owner surrenders as space allows.
Pet Refuge is a volunteer based shelter, learn more about us on our website - petrefuge.com or send an email to webmaster@petrefuge.com or leave a message at 574-231-1122.
We are always recruiting new volunteers. Our volunteers work hard and also have family and jobs away from Pet Refuge, we ask for your patience in correspondence.
