My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bishop the low-rider

Male

4 years

Basset mix

We came across Bishop when he was relinquished to the Calexico Animal Control facility in Calexico, California.

His owner was forced to give him up because they were both getting evicted.

We’ve come to realize that Bishop likes kids, dogs that are his size or smaller, and he is not a fan of cats.

Big dogs tend to intimidate him so we think placing him in an environment with dogs his size or smaller would be ideal.

Bishop is very playful and sweet, and enjoys sleeping on a cozy, soft bed and playing with other dogs and toys.

Bishop has a funky leg that he was born with, and it does not seem to slow him down or bother him one bit.

If you’re looking for a Lowrider that has spunk and energy then please consider adopting Bishop.

We are a non-for profit organization that helps save animals from high kill animal pounds and also rescue animals from Mexico. We do not have a facility and rely primarily on dogs that are already in our foster care program.

More about this rescue

Calexico Border Paws focuses on providing a safe haven for neglected, abandoned, or abused dogs. We hope to one day build a community where people value animals and treat them with respect and kindness.
