My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Big Mike is a beautiful medium-haired black kitty who we think is about 3 years old. He was a surprise in the absolute best way. He showed up at a Bushwick feeding spot in summer 2025 and he was so evasive that his caretakers were certain he was a lifelong street cat. He was trapped right before the major snowstorm in January and it became clear over the days that followed that he was no feral; just before they were set to release him back on the street he leaned in for a cheek scratch and everything changed. Big Mike was simply a terrified former pet who had landed on the street, confused, frightened, and unsure who to trust.
Once he knew he was in a safe place, Big Mike completely blossomed and now wants nothing more than pets, scratches, and snuggles. He is absolutely perfect in every way! He is a Velcro cat who sticks to his foster the moment they enter his room. He’ll reach out a paw, grab your hand, then put his face on your hand; subtle, bro!
He can be held like a baby and kissed right on the nose. He isn’t overly playful; he likes catnip-filled toys but anything on a wand isn’t really his bag.
Big Mike might be okay with other cats but they would need to be introduced slowly and with care, as always. He was in a room with another cat for a short period and he was somewhat indifferent but in no way obsessed with the other cat. What he really wants is human affection.
Big Mike is neutered, FIV/FeLV negative, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and has been de-wormed and treated for fleas.
