Chaplin is a delightful double dapple (double merle) mini dachshund. She was a stray languishing in the Hondo shelter before pulled by God’s Dogs Rescue. Chaplin got her name because of the distinctive little “mustache” ( ) on her upper lip. Despite her diminutive size (11.4#), she is 100% dachshund! She loves to play, to chase, and to burrow. No pile of unfolded laundry is safe! Finding her in the clothes pile becomes akin to a “Where’s Waldo” puzzle. Given her coloring pattern, she is hard of hearing. She has minimal hearing in her L ear only. Chaplin is ready for her forever home that will adore her for the treasure that she is.

Adoption application required for dogs. However, because it stresses cats to be confined and transported with dogs long distances, we do not transport our cats. They are local to Texas only. Thank you.
Adoption fees with transport included start at $400 higher prices for Purebred and/or highly desirable pets. Adoption application, adoption contract, return/foster agreement if dog doesn't work out in home.
We work hard to place dogs in the right homes, if the adoption does not work out and we have room to take the dog back into the rescue, we will. However, the sheer number of needy animals in TX usually means we become full quickly after the dog is adopted. So, in those cases we will post the animal, help the adopter screen applicants and help facilitate finding another home for the dog.
