My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Grandma Bee—a sweet, shy-at-first Chiweenie who warms up quickly and brings plenty of love and laughter. At just 2.5 years old, she has youthful energy and a playful spirit that brightens every day.

Small but full of personality, Grandma Bee loves being the center of attention and soaking up affection and needs to be the only dog in the home as she can be dog selective. She is more fearful of men and will need time and understanding to feel comfortable—but belly rubs and treats definitely help win her over. She enjoys running and playing in the yard, is house trained, and loves her crate. She would also do best with a patient adopter to help her learn leash walking—so a fenced yard is ideal. If you’d like to meet this adorable girl, please submit your application. 🩷

Go meet their pets

Over 75% of our dogs are in foster homes along the front range. The foster will get in touch to schedule meetings for their foster dog. Meetings will happen in/near their homes since that is where the dog is the most comfortable. We do want you to bring family members (human and dog) to the meeting! Dogs who are currently at our Windsor facility will have meetings there and a volunteer will reach out to schedule those meetings with you. Please be aware that we do not place our dogs on a first come, first served basis, but rather a best-fit placement. Never fear, applications are valid for a year so if the first dog you meet isn't a good fit, we will have plenty of time to find one that is.
