My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet This Adorable Bonded Pair of Brothers - Peanut and Monte!

These two sweet boys are ready to find their forever home, together! Though they’re brothers by chance, they’ve become the best of friends. They are both very affectionate so if you’d like a more independent cat, these boys may not be a good fit for you. They love to wrestle and play, then curl up together (or in your lap!) for cozy cuddles. Their personalities are the perfect mix of playful energy and affectionate snuggles.

They’re fully socialized, litter trained, and ready to bring double the love and laughter to a lucky family. They are scared of dogs but I think they would do ok with slow introductions, if your dog is gentle. If your dog tends to chase, these boys may not be for you.

If you’re looking for two kittens who adore each other (and will adore you just as much), these brothers are the perfect match!

**Peanut has a couple "special needs".**

Peanut gets feline acne on his chin. Feline acne is a common, often mild skin condition, appearing as blackheads on a cat's chin, caused by clogged hair follicles and excess oil (sebum). He requires a glass or porcelain food dish and may need occasional cleaning and combing with chlorhexidine/benzoyl peroxide.

He is also sensitive to food changes. He is currently eating Purina Cat Chow Indoor Healthy Weight and Hairball Dry Cat Food With Chicken (Green bag). He also shares one can of Friskies wet pate with his brother every day. If you change his diet, it will be best to do it very gradually and stick to a chicken based food. He doesn’t seem to mind the different flavors of wet food. It is important for male cats to continue to eat wet food on a daily basis as they are susceptible to urinary blockages, which can be quite costly to correct and can be deadly.

More about this rescue

Little Mews is an all volunteer, non profit, 501(c)3, no-kill, animal rescue organization. We take in cats and kittens from a variety of situations, most are stray, unwanted, neglected or abused. We can also refer you to other organizations in the area that have dogs, cats and other animals for adoption and have information about low cost spay and neuter options.

All our cats and kittens who are ready for adoption have been checked by a vet, vaccinated for FVRCP, rabies (if over 4 months), tested for Feline Leukemia, FIV, wormed, and spayed/neutered if old enough. Any health conditions are treated so that the cats can be adopted as healthy as possible.

Our goal is to find safe, healthy, forever homes for cats and to promote spay/neuter so that the number of unwanted cats is lowered every year. We want each cat and kitten adopted to a home where it will live forever.
