Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Whiskey, an almost 2 year old Golden Retriever with a heart as big as his hugs. True to his breed, he is incredibly sweet and affectionate, always looking for a chance to lean in close or wrap you up in a gentle hug. He has lived with children as young as 3 years old and has done very well, showing a soft and loving nature in the home. After spending his entire life with one family, he is now adjusting to new surroundings and experiences.
Because Whiskey isn’t used to much of the world outside his previous home, he can feel nervous in unfamiliar situations and will need a patient family committed to helping him build confidence at his own pace. He has not had much exposure to other dogs and is both curious and a little unsure when meeting them. If there is another dog in the home, he would likely do best with a mellow, very friendly companion who can gently show him the ropes.
Whiskey does have one important quirk: he will eat socks whole if given the opportunity, which puts him at serious risk for an intestinal blockage. His new family will need to be diligent about keeping clothing and small items picked up and out of reach to keep him safe. With structure, supervision, and plenty of affection, Whiskey will be a deeply devoted addition to a lucky household.
